Mountain Dew Flavors Discontinued in 2025

Major Melon

Launched in January 2021, Major Melon brought a refreshing watermelon taste to the Mountain Dew lineup. Initially introduced as a permanent flavor, it transitioned to a regional offering in February 2024. By January 2025, both Major Melon and its Zero Sugar counterpart were discontinued due to declining sales. 

Spark

Spark, a raspberry lemonade flavor, made its debut as a limited-time exclusive at Speedway gas stations in 2020 and 2021. Its popularity led to a nationwide permanent release in January 2022. Similar to Major Melon, Spark became a regional flavor in February 2024 and was fully discontinued in January 2025, along with its Zero Sugar version

Frost Bite

Exclusively available at Walmart since March 2020, Frost Bite offered a unique honeydew/melon flavor. Despite its initial success, this variant is scheduled to be discontinued in May 2025.

Instead, a collaboration with a popular Halloween candy brand will replace it. Explanation: VooDEW is a mystery-flavored Mountain Dew that is released annually before Halloween. The flavor is usually based on candy and is revealed on Halloween.

Voodew will be replaced with MTN DEW TROLLI ( Cherry Lemon ). 

Trolli (Cherry-Lemon) is an upcoming Mountain Dew flavor based on the Trolli brand of gummy candy, specifically the Sour Brite Crawlers flavor 'Cherry-Lemon'.

 Mountain Dew and Trolli is slated to come in early September of 2025, with the flavor being Trolli (Cherry-Lemon). The flavor will release in both regular and zero sugar forms in 12oz can and 20oz bottles.

As the flavor is slated for September, it did mean that there wouldn't be a VooDEW flavor slated for 2025, ending the VooDEW 6-year streak. All of this, however, was subject to change, as PepsiCo hasn't confirmed anything yet.

Patriotic Trio: Star Spangled Splash, Freedom Fusion, and Liberty Chill

Mountain Dew had planned to re-release these patriotic-themed flavors in the summer of 2025. Unfortunately, due to significant amounts of expired product, all three flavors were scrapped and replaced by Summer Freeze and its Zero Sugar variant. 

The discontinuation of these flavors marks a significant shift in Mountain Dew's product lineup for 2025. While fans may miss these unique tastes, the brand continues to innovate, introducing new flavors and reimagining classics to satisfy the evolving preferences of its consumers.
